Man! Emulation has come a long way over the past several years. I was always interested in it. I think the first emulator I ever use was an Apple II emulator. At the time I had a 486 and an Apple. I thought,"Wow! I can play Apple games on my 486." The I got into gameboy, then Genesis, then SNES, and now, N64 and Neo Geo.
"So what's emulation?" you say. Well it's kind of hard to explain. It's only function is to enable you to be able to use software on a system from other consoles or systems.
So is it legal?" you say. Most emulators are freeware, so you don't have to worry about them. However, for the roms, if you download them, you have to own them. For example: If you want to download an N64 rom, you have to own the actual cartridge. Same goes for arcade. If you don't have it, you can download it. But it has to be only for evaluation purposes only. You have to delete them in 24 hours or you have to buy them. But most people do not listen. So it's your choice.
"So how does it work?" you say. Don't ask me. How should I know?... OK,OK, Here is waht I got so far. The computer mimics hardware from the consoles using software.
Here, pick a console.
